Bordeaux

Pavillon Rouge is the second wine of Château Margaux, made from the estate’s vineyards by the same team. It shares the grand vin’s finesse and fragrance, is a little more approachable when young, and ages well for twenty years or more in good vintages.
Château Margaux is the First Growth of the Margaux appellation and one of the four estates ranked First Growth in 1855. Its neoclassical château, built in the early nineteenth century, is one of the best-known sights in Bordeaux. The Mentzelopoulos family bought the estate in 1977 and restored it to the very top rank.
The estate is known for red wines of great finesse and perfume, and for Pavillon Blanc, one of the Médoc’s few great white wines.
