Bordeaux

Pavillon Blanc is Château Margaux’s white wine, made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc grown on a separate part of the estate. Because a white wine cannot carry the Margaux name it is sold as Bordeaux, but it is one of the region’s finest whites: rich, precise and able to age for a decade or more.
Château Margaux is the First Growth of the Margaux appellation and one of the four estates ranked First Growth in 1855. Its neoclassical château, built in the early nineteenth century, is one of the best-known sights in Bordeaux. The Mentzelopoulos family bought the estate in 1977 and restored it to the very top rank.
The estate is known for red wines of great finesse and perfume, and for Pavillon Blanc, one of the Médoc’s few great white wines.
