Bordeaux

The red Pape Clément is ripe and generous, with dark fruit, a smoky Graves character and plenty of oak when young. It drinks well from around ten years and good vintages age for twenty or more.
Château Pape Clément in Pessac is one of the oldest wine estates in Bordeaux. It takes its name from Bertrand de Goth, Archbishop of Bordeaux, who owned the vineyard before becoming Pope Clement V in 1305. Today it belongs to Bernard Magrez.
It is a Classified Growth of Graves, making a rich, modern red and a small amount of white.
