Lynch-Bages is rich and generous, with ripe blackcurrant, mint and cedar. It is enjoyable relatively young yet ages for decades in good vintages.
Château Lynch-Bages, on the Bages plateau just south of the town of Pauillac, was classified a Fifth Growth in 1855 but has long made wine of much higher standing. It takes its name from the Lynch family, of Irish origin, who owned it in the eighteenth century, and has belonged to the Cazes family since 1939.
Lynch-Bages is loved for its generous style and offers some of the best value among the great Pauillacs.
