Ducru-Beaucaillou is refined and harmonious, with blackcurrant, cedar and fine-grained tannins. It ages very well and is usually at its best from around fifteen years after the vintage.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a Second Growth of Saint-Julien, its château facing the Gironde estuary. The name refers to the “beautiful pebbles” of its gravel soils. It has been owned by the Borie family since 1941.
Ducru is one of the leading “super seconds”, known for wines of classic elegance and great consistency.
