Cos d’Estournel combines Saint-Estèphe’s structure with unusual richness and spice. It is dense and ripe in youth and develops great complexity over two decades or more.
Château Cos d’Estournel is a Second Growth of Saint-Estèphe, on a gravel rise facing Lafite Rothschild across the border with Pauillac. Its founder, Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel, traded with India and built the estate’s famous oriental pagodas. It has been owned by Michel Reybier since 2000.
Cos is known for rich, exotic, long-lived wines and is one of the leading “super seconds”.
