About this wine
Clos de Bèze is one of the two greatest vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin, with a history of winemaking going back to the monks of the Abbey of Bèze in the seventh century. Rousseau’s Clos de Bèze is among the domaine’s finest wines: deep, structured and perfumed, with the power to age for several decades.
About Domaine Armand Rousseau
Domaine Armand Rousseau was built up in the early twentieth century by Armand Rousseau, one of the first growers in Burgundy to bottle his own wine. Run today by his grandson Eric Rousseau and Eric’s daughter Cyrielle, it is one of the most revered estates in the Côte de Nuits.
The domaine’s holdings are concentrated in the finest Grand Cru vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin, above all Chambertin and Clos de Bèze. The wines are made traditionally, aiming for purity and finesse rather than weight, and demand far outstrips the small quantities made.
